Minister of National Education Nabi Avcı stated that supplementary and remedial courses that will be provided to the students whose schools are closed due to terror activities will be discussed during the workshop held in Van.
Minister Avcı was treated to the famous Van breakfast by Van Governor İbrahim Taşyapan, other officials of the province and education directors. Two students thanked Minister Avcı for his instruction to teachers not to give homework during the semester holiday at the breakfast.
After the breakfast, Minister Avcı arrived in the Şişli Teacher Guest House to attend the education workshop. He said that the ministry has started to organize regional meetings and the very first of these meetings were held in the Marmara region.
“Today, we are having a meeting with education officials coming from 15 different provinces. Approximately 200 officials including provincial education directors and inspectors will be present at the meeting,” stated Minister Avcı.
Noting that participants will exchange views about the general issues of national education during the meeting, Minister Avcı went on to say, “Information about regulations will be provided to the participants and we will discuss general and local issues concerning education. Remedies concerning the students whose schools are closed due to terror activities will be among the topics of the meeting. We will also focus on supplementary and remedial courses, recent situation concerning the Transition from Primary to Secondary Education exams and course programs.”
Minister Avcı said that education problems of Turkey as well as the region will be discussed in detail adding that the officials will have the opportunity to explain possible solution offers with their personnel after their return to their place of duty.
